Make Finsbury Park Safer After Dark
Finsbury Park sits between multiple stations, bus stops and residential areas. It is often used as the most direct route home for many. There are no lighting or safety features for after dark (4pm in the winter), despite the park being open 24/7. According to Police.uk roughly 100 crimes were reported in the park a month in 2017. And recently a young lady lost her life walking through the park on the way home on Christmas Eve at around 8.30pm. As a local resident I feel too unsafe to walk through the park after dark and I worry about my local friends who admit they do walk through there regularly at night.
If measures could be taken on the main routes through the park, such as lighting, CCTV and more wardens or help points it would make the park a safer place for all and hopefully prevent tragedy striking again. Please sign my petition. Amy.
